Traditionally, Lufthansa management presents insights and background information about the strategic positioning and development of different Group segments at its annual Investor Day. This year, the event is being held in Zurich. Group management members there to answer questions from capital market participants will be Lufthansa CEO Christoph Franz and the Group’s CFO, Stephan Gemkow.

Yesterday, the Executive Board adjusted its earnings forecast for the current financial year to the latest developments and is now expecting that the operating profit will be at the upper end of the three-digit million Euro range. The target of a further increase on the previous year’s figure of EUR 876m no longer appears to be achievable, however. The adjustment reflects a weaker than expected monthly result reported by the Passenger Airline Group for August and an adjustment of expectations to the further development of bookings. A package of measures was also decided that provides for a further 2 percentage-point reduction of planned capacities to now 4 percent growth in Lufthansa Passenger Airlines’ winter 2011/12 timetable. Close attention will be paid to further developments and Lufthansa will, if required, use its existing flexibility to make further adjustments to its capacities.

A deeper insight into the passenger business and the interplay between individual hubs of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines will be given by the Executive Board members Kay  Kratky, in charge of the Frankfurt hub and operations, and Thomas Klühr, in charge of the Munich hub and Direct Services. With the Investor Day being held in Zurich, there will naturally be a further focus on SWISS, which will be represented by its CFO Marcel Klaus. The position and development of the freight business will be reviewed by Peter Gerber, the Lufthansa Cargo's Executive Board member in charge of Finance and Human Resources.

All presentations will be available online on www.lufthansagroup.com/investor-relations. From September 22nd there will also be a webcast of the presentations and discussion downloadable.
